    Expat/Inpat - Dental Insurance Plan Options

    Dental insurance plan options are available additions for expats and inpats. Employees can visit any licensed dentist for preventative, basic and major services. Expats and inpats working outside of the U.S. have indemnity dental benefits. While in the U.S., employees will receive cost savings when visiting a participating U.S. provider.

    Orthodontics coverage is also available.

    Vision Insurance Plans For Expats And Inpats

    Eyesight is an important part of employee success and productivity. We offer several global Expat/Inpat vision plans that include insurance coverage for eye exams and a separate eyewear benefit that provides a flat dollar amount that can be applied on lenses, frames, contact lenses and other types of eyewear.

    Employees in the US can also take advantage of additional vision discounts on exams, eyewear and more.

    Expat/Inpat Disability Insurance Coverage In The Event Of A Debilitating Accident

    If an employee is stricken with a serious illness or suffers a devastating accident, that person could be out of work for a long time. Long-term disability options provide employees with a percentage of their monthly salary if they are out of work for an extended period of time due to illness or injury.

    Life Insurance Plans To Cover Expats/Inpats And Their Families

    Our term life insurance product is an affordable addition to a benefit package for groups of 2+. It provides essential financial protection and peace-of-mind on or off the job. The life insurance plan is available as an earnings-based or flat amount plan.

    Additional Layers of Insurance Coverage For Unique Situations

    As the world gets smaller, threats to employee safety continue to grow, particularly in countries of unrest. We offer additional insurance benefits for employees who may be exposed to especially dangerous situations.

    Non-Medical, Security Or Political Evacuations

    In the event of an emergency situation when employees are in imminent danger while traveling in a foreign country, they and their insured dependents will be evacuated immediately to a place of safety.

    Covered reasons for evacuation include:

    • Natural disasters
    • Civil uprisings, military coups, or political unrest
    • Identification as a persona non grata or being expelled from the country you are visiting

    After the danger has cleared, employees and insured dependents will either be returned home or back to the destination from which they were evacuated.

    Coverage includes:

    • Flight arrangements
    • Securing visas
    • Logistical arrangements such as ground transportation and housing
    • Contact with the insured and relaying messages to loved ones

    Kidnap and Ransom

    Kidnap and Ransom Insurance protects against a financial loss caused by a kidnapping or extortion—coverage up to a person’s personal or corporate net worth.

    One of the most beneficial parts of Kidnap and Ransom Insurance is the unlimited expenses for the Crisis Response Team, which is highly trained to deal with kidnappings, ransom requests, and extortion plots.


    World-class international health coverage for employees working away from their home country for 6 months or more

    Total Benefit Solutions works with you to build custom medical and ancillary coverage options for Expat/Inpats who will be residing outside of their home country (generally for 6 months or more).

    International insurance coverage for Expat/Inpats means having dedicated service staff available worldwide with multilingual capabilities ready to assist the employee 24/7, 365 days a year.

    Pre-trip planning services assist employees with individual medical needs before arrival in the destination country. This includes identifying the availability of prescription medications in the destination country and locating medical care providers.

    In the event of an emergency, an international medical management team works with the employee and family members to direct care based on regional capabilities and surgical facilities that include direct payment options, claims translation and EFT wire transfer options.

    If the foreign-based employee needs medical evacuation to a regional Centre of Excellence, an international medical management team coordinates transportation and the patient’s care while en-route.
